Background Information
The Duwancho washing station, located in Sidama, Ethiopia, is renowned for its meticulous coffee processing methods.
For this premium lot, cherries are sourced from a limited number of smallholder farmers, with an exceptional focus on cherry selection.
Each batch comprises 90% perfectly ripened cherries, 5% semi-ripe, and 5% overripe, ensuring a carefully balanced and high-quality cup profile.
The coffee undergoes a unique extended soaking process, lasting two hours, which enhances the coffee's natural sweetness.
Following soaking, cherries are dried on raised beds for up to 30 days under controlled airflow conditions to achieve consistency and optimal flavour development.

This heirloom Ethiopian landrace variety, 74148, is a product of the Jimma Agricultural Research Center, selected in 1974 for its disease resistance and high-quality potential.
The variety thrives in the lush highlands of Ethiopia, growing at elevations between 1900 and 2150 masl, where the microclimate fosters the vibrant tropical and floral notes that shine in Duwancho.
The meticulous care in farming and processing makes this lot a standout example of Ethiopian coffee excellence.
