Background Information
From the elevated terrains of Bench Maji, Bangi, Gesha Village Coffee embodies Ethiopia’s unmatched coffee heritage.
Grown at an altitude of 1909–2063 masl, this coffee benefits from a unique microclimate, nurturing the complexity and quality that sets it apart in the specialty coffee world.
Harvesting at Gesha Village is a meticulous process. Cherries are hand-picked at their peak ripeness to ensure only the finest fruit is included.
This attention to detail preserves the beans’ integrity and guarantees an exceptional cup.
This lot is processed using a semi-anaerobic natural method, where freshly picked cherries are fermented for 84 hours in jute bags inside cement tanks.
After fermentation, the cherries are sun-dried on raised African beds for 33 days, allowing the beans to absorb the fruit’s natural sugars and flavours.
This careful processing results in a sweet, vibrant, and deeply layered cup, celebrating the best of Ethiopian coffee craftsmanship.
Gesha Village - Bangi is a tribute to the birthplace of the Gesha variety and an extraordinary opportunity to savour a coffee crafted with dedication and precision.
From its rich confectionary notes to its fruity and chocolatey depth, this coffee is a celebration of Ethiopian excellence.
