The Story Behind the Coffee
This lot was grown by Jairo Arcila, one of Colombia’s most innovative producers, at his farm Santa Monica.
Hand-picked at peak ripeness, the cherries were carefully sorted before being sun-dried on raised beds in temperature-controlled conditions, ensuring a perfect balance of intensity and clarity.
Java: A Variety with a Journey
This lot is 100% Java, a variety with deep roots in history.
Originally from Ethiopia, Java is a natural mutation of Typica, which was later cultivated in Indonesia, where it earned its name.
It made its way to Costa Rica in 1991, and by 2010, it reached Colombia, where producers like Jairo Arcila have transformed it into something truly special.
With its lively fruit character, intricate sweetness, and experimental edge, this coffee is a must-try for anyone who loves bold and exciting flavour experiences.
