The Mubuga coffee comes from the Mubuga washing station in Ngozi, Burundi, which is renowned for its exceptional coffee processing infrastructure.
Over 1900 local farmers contribute their ripe cherries to this station, which has 12 fermentation tanks, three soaking tanks, and more than 300 drying tables.
The meticulous selection process and careful natural processing at Mubuga ensure that only the finest cherries are used, resulting in a coffee that is both complex and clean.
Located at 1661 meters above sea level, the region's high altitude contributes to the coffee's bright acidity and well-defined flavours.
The natural processing method involves drying the cherries on raised beds, which helps to concentrate the coffee's inherent sweetness and fruity character.
The result is a rich, vibrant coffee that reflects the unique terroir of the Ngozi region.
