Cherry, Red Grapefruit, Molasses
Country: Ethiopia
Region: West Arsi
Process: Natural
Variety: Heirloom
Elevation: 1950 - 2300 masl
From the highlands of Ethiopia’s West Arsi region, Nansebo is an espresso that demands attention.
Think juicy cherry brightness, zesty red grapefruit acidity, and the deep, syrupy sweetness of molasses.
Grown in the backyard gardens of smallholder farmers, this Heirloom variety thrives at breathtaking elevations of up to 2300masl,
soaking up the rich volcanic soil and high-altitude climate.
At the processing station near Nansebo town, every step of production is designed to highlight this coffee’s natural fruitiness.
Hand-harvested cherries are carefully sorted, dried on raised beds, and frequently turned for 18-30 days to enhance their clarity and depth.
The meticulous post-harvest care—including triple hand-sorting and colour sorting—ensures that only the finest beans make the cut.
The result is a beautifully expressive espresso, brimming with Ethiopia’s signature vibrancy and complexity.
