Nestled in the picturesque village of Xiding Township in Menghai County, Yunnan, Slope Coffee Estate is located in a region rich in cultural and agricultural heritage. Home to the Blang ethnic group, the estate cultivates the unique Purple Caturra variety, also known as "Purple Leaf" due to the vibrant colour of its leaves. This natural mutation of Caturra was developed by the Dehong Tropical Research Institute and thrives at the high altitude of 1,800 masl, contributing to the coffee’s exceptional character.
The K72 washed process used at Slope Coffee Estate enhances the coffee’s clean and vibrant profile. Ripe cherries are hand-picked and floated in spring water to ensure only the best cherries are processed. After pulping, the coffee undergoes a 24-hour fermentation followed by a second fermentation stage. The beans are washed again to remove any remaining mucilage and then slowly dried at low temperatures. This meticulous process creates a coffee that’s bright, sweet, and beautifully balanced.
