Grown in the Shadow of Giants
High in the lush, volcanic landscapes of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Mountain Range, Starlight thrives in clay loam soils, nourished by an annual rainfall of 1400mm. The cool temperatures and high elevations of 1700–2000 masl slow down cherry maturation, intensifying the coffee’s sweetness and complexity.

The varietal composition is a mix of Kenya’s finest:

SL28 & SL34 – Renowned for their bright acidity and deep fruit notes.
Batian & Ruiru 11 – Modern additions known for resilience while still delivering excellent cup quality.
A Process that Elevates Clarity
Kenya’s fully washed process is legendary for a reason.

Cherries are meticulously sorted and pulped, ensuring only the ripest fruit moves forward.
After fermentation, the beans are soaked for extra refinement, a signature step that enhances clarity and acidity.
Finally, they are dried on raised beds for up to 21 days, allowing the flavours to fully develop.
Sustainability & Community Impact
Behind every cup of Starlight is a community-driven approach to quality and sustainability. The farmers—working through some of Kenya’s best cooperatives—use recycled cherry pulps as natural fertiliser, enriching the soil while reducing waste. They also receive ongoing training in agricultural best practices, ensuring that both quality and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.

A Stellar Filter Coffee Experience
